Thông tin chi tiết
Tóm tắt : | The book provides background on the nature of weeds and their comprehensive effects on crops; on the main approaches to weed management, whether cultural, physical, biological or chemical, and on the economics of different systems and their intergration. A number of the most important species or genera of weeds are considered individually for their biology and control. The emphasis, so far as possible, is on the exploitation of non-chemical methods, most suitable to low-input agriculture. It is not suggested, or desirable, that use of herbicides should become as dominant as it has in industrialised countires, but they can offer technical solutions to various problems and, with approciate care, and integration with other methods, they can be fully economic, and socially and environmentally acceptable at the small farm level. |
